1970 Ford Mustang Fastback
Cleveland 351c 4V – 3 Speed Automatic
This car was imported to the UK in June 1990, and has had 6 owners since then.
The last owner has had the car since 2015. He is now selling his collection of cars through Shmoo Automotive.
The 1970 Mustangs are one of the rarest of the bunch, being the last year that could still be clearly recognised as an ‘original design’ Mustang, before the heavier and more bloated ‘Bunkie’ 1971 Mach 1 cars. The 1970 model year returned to a wider grille and single headlight set up, plus the rear quarter air scoops on the 1969 model were done away with, meaning even though this is a later design, it has more in common with the earlier cars. Basically, it’s cooler!
As can be seen, the car is in very good condition, the engine bay and interior are in lovely order.
The paintwork is 95%, with a few small age related blemishes, as to be expected with an older restoration. The underside is very solid, with floorpans in very good condition.
The car is not overly aggressive with regards to the exhaust note, the owner is an older gentleman and he wanted something he could use, and take anywhere.
A local classic car specialist has been taking care of this and the other cars in the collection, with regular servicing and maintenance. The last visit was in March 2021, 1000 miles ago.
There is a large file of paperwork with the car, that goes into great detail with regards to the parts and historic records of improvements and restoration that have taken place on the car since it’s import, with invoices dated from 1993.
