TVR Chimaera 450 PAS – 1999/T
Crystal Verde with Dark Green Hide, Forest Green Carpets.
Nice Chimaera related plate – (To be confirmed that it’s staying on the car).
60,000 miles with a superb service history and all the important bits done.
This car was supplied to its first owner on 27th May 1999 by Kerridges TVR.
Being a late car, it is particularly well sorted, and the build quality of this example really does stand out compared to most of the Chims we see now.
The Crystal Verde paint is rare to see and beautiful, in the sunlight this car really does ‘pop’.
The green hood sets the exterior off a treat. The car has been well loved, and the paint condition backs this up. There are one or two small stonechips low down on the front end, and the odd mark around the boot area from loading the roof in. But nothing someone who knows Chims would be surprised to see. Other than that, the paint is rather good order and we would not be rushing to do any paintwork if it was our own private car.
The roof is in super, original condition, no rips, tears or clouding of the rear screen.
The wheels are smart and sharp, fitted with Toyo Proxes, there is plenty of meat left on them.
Interior wise, you’ll struggle to fault it. If you wanted a concourse car, you may say there’s a little wear to the drivers bolster, but better than 80% of the cars we see.
The carpets are beautiful, free from stains or marks, or wear. No discernible fade.
The dash is a thing of absolute beauty. We’ve never seen one like it. The previous owner wasn’t happy with the quality of the standard TVR items, so when it came time to change his cracked veneer, it was sent off to a company who do the wood dashboards for Aston Martin, and the result is stunning. (Maybe growing up with the teak wood on our parents stereos in the 1970’s is why we like it so much, but we think it’s a joyful sight).
Mechanically the car is in top condition, having been looked after by Power for the last 9 years. The camshaft was replaced in 2014 by Power, along with a diff rebuild. The outriggers were done by our tech in 2018, and the car has barely been used since.
Recently, it has also had:
Diff bushes replaced.
Rear main oil seal and crucifix seals.
Fuel lines replaced.
New PAS pump.
New clutch fork.
Clutch was replaced at 48,000 miles.

Overall a lovely example, of the superb 450, arguably the pick of the Chimaera range. A genuine, honest, late model, which just drives so well, and all the usual Chimaera weak points addressed.
