If you want something special in your TVR life, and “you’re feeling brave my friend”…..she could be the one. Took the Lotus Esprit HC Turbo out last Sunday for the @southleicestercargroup Cars & Coffee gathering. Terry Wilson of TW Photography took these snaps as we cruised in. I flashed the lights, he gave me a 👍🏼…and these are the results. Won us his ‘Car of the Day’ ….not bad out of 200 cars..😎. Look out for something different in July Terry. Possibly a T350, my TVR White Elephant, or maybe a 928 GTS… Which one gets your vote? The Lotus is a true beauty, and I’d dearly like to keep it, but alas it must, as always be sold. It’s the best value on the market, £8,000 less than the next cheapest example on @carandclassic …so it’s well worth the lolly at £46,999. The last owner of this Mondial bought it in 1988!!! It’s not been on the road since 2010, but it’s a very clean, rust free car, and has only covered 43,000 miles. Mark has taken the plunge, and taken her home to get on with the recommissioning. Part 2 of the ‘Garage Find’. The BMW E28 528i Manual. Drives well, just needs some basic work to get it to the finished article. Just had quite a lot of money spent on a custom exhaust and various other jobs. Not real rust, and dashboard and interior are in amazing condition. 1982!!!! These cars will be up for sale soon. Very long term ownership, 38yrs for the Ferrari, 31yrs for the Daimler, the 205 was in the family from brand new. There is also a 1982 BMW E28 528i - Manual, that has been with the last owner since 1995, with 36,000 miles. All will need to be recommissioned to some degree or another, and will have to be trailered away. The BMW has just had £3000 spent on it, and does drive well. But still requires further work. Pics of that on the next of post. Plate is being removed from the Ferrari. I have limited photos from today of the underside on all cars, other than the 205. They all look excellent. Daf (no, he’s not Welsh 😆) collecting his new toy this morning from Shmoo. Lovely chap, getting a lovely car, as Jody from @python_racing will testify, as he was kind enough to help us with some prep work this week. I remember exactly where I was the first time I bought this car from Nader in Northern Ireland. I was half way across a small mountain in Fuerteventura..😎. The car was then sold to Gary, then to Mark, and now it rolls onto Daf. The front end has just been painted by Simon @windrush_tvr and as you can see it’s looking spot on. Always on the look out for interesting cars, bikes and vehicles, get in touch if you have something I can find a new home for. I have a 620bhp Land Rover due in shortly, a small collection of 1980’s classics, and a couple of Jaguars. Oh..and the uber-cool Esprit Turbo HC lands back with me next week!! On the hunt for Sagaris’s at the moment (4 clients waiting for the right car, and just like Daf, they only want to buy from Shmoo). Also looking for a perfect Tuscan MK1, for the gent I’ve just sold the T350 for. Lovely as always to see Neil at @fischersbaslow restaurant and hotel. It’s a gorgeous place people, so, if you’re looking for somewhere special for lunch in the Peak District, or an overnight stay with your beloved, pop it on your list. The grounds are so beautifully kept, and the interiors and architecture of the hall are breathtaking, and just make you smile as you walk in. Neil and I have been dealing with each other for at least 15yrs, so over those years there have been some interesting cars coming and going. (First one was a silver Porsche C4S). Neil picks the phone up when he wants something for anyone in the family, and this striking Volvo V60 Ultra B4 MHEV was for his Mum. Amazingly, I bought it from a chap who’d won it in one of those online raffles, and I kid you not, a year ago, the same gent won a BMW M4. Just shows you, someone wins…..TWICE! I hope Mum enjoys it Neil. Thank you for the business, and support. Thought you guys would like to see a TVR Sagaris I sold last year. Some of you might recall it, (scroll back through my previous posts and you’ll see it) it was an 11,000 mile, grey car that we did a vast amount of work to for the new owner. Since then, through a Shmoo recommendation, he’s had Simon at @windrush_tvr to carry out a full colour change, to Porsche Yachting Blue. Looks lovely, and another great job by Simon and his team. I was down with the car, as I was handing over another TVR that I’d supplied to him last year, a 17,000 mile T350c. More pics next week of that one. (A car I’ve bought and sold 3 times since 2022.). I’m on the look out for any nice Sagaris stock, with 4 clients waiting. Plus, a MK1 Tuscan, but needs to be something rather special, as it’s for the same client who owns the Sagaris. Just 21,000 miles from new; but largely irrelevant as the car has had fortunes spent on it by the previous owner. £20k on paint, £9k on interior, £17k on a 4.5 Supersport Powers engine. Giugiaro - Lotus Esprit S3 Turbo HC - Oct 1986 build. One of 135 UK cars made, one of 5 Silver Frost cars made, and the only one with a red leather interior. Sunroof and A/C model. Owned by the last owner since 1997. He was an engineer and loved this car like a baby. There are FOUR ring binders of history with the car. Photos and line by line history of everything it ever had done. 81,000 miles, but it really doesn’t mean that much when you see the work and maintenance carried out, including an engine and gearbox rebuild. The car will be going to a Lotus specialist for a checkover, before making its way to Leicestershire, where the usual detailed photos and video will be taken, and I’ll attempt to get the history into some sort of summary. It hits ‘Historic’ status this November. Watch this space over the coming days and weeks for more details. What a boy! Nick picking up the SUPER RARE MK3 S Targa last Saturday, that only HAD 13,100 miles on it…and he’s only gone and nailed 800 miles on it since in just over a week, and he’s currently in France. 🇫🇷. He said he wanted to get to know the car, so what better way than to get out there and use it. Brilliant!!! It was a real boon for little old Shmoo to have such a rare car in stock, they only made 13 MK3 S models. Well, here’s something a little different. 1980 Airstream Caravelle 24 – Beautifully restored by the current keeper 4yrs ago, and as you can see still in lovely condition. It belongs to a regular client of mine and is based in the Aberdeen area of Scotland. So, this is an advert on his behalf, and you would be heading in that direction should you want to view it/collect it. Chassis 424 TOJ 1655 £23,999 Work undertaken by the current owner: Four years ago the interior was stripped out, new floor, new paint internally, removed all water, sewage, (no water in the caravan to avoid smells, mess etc. so ideal for camp sites) and wiring, new internal walls, beds, mattresses, kitchen, fridge, new gas pipes and wiring, new table and benches (which can be taken outside as required) repairs and underseal to chassis, new drawbar, rewire for the tail lights. Wire wheels with 2-eared spinners. Union flag bonnet badges. Stainless steel badge bar. Stainless steel luggage rack. Door handles, front bumper, and overriders to front and rear. Reversing lamp and fog lamp. Folding and reclining seats with headrests. Walnut dash. Moto Lita wood-rim steering wheel. Clock. Map reading light. Radio/cassette. Librands sports shift gear lever. Organ type accelerator pedal. Hood tensioners. Battery cut-out switch and key. Galvanised chassis. Stainless steel bonnet stays. All four wings replaced 2012 photographically recorded. A few modifications make this really fun to drive. Kent fast road cams. Librands stainless steel sports exhaust system, manifold, and 200 cell cat. K&N air filter and forced cold air intake duct. Sifab aluminium performance radiator and upgraded electric fan. Scuttle roll bar. The previous owner bought the car in 2021, with 41,800 miles on the clock. The owner prior to that had owned Morgans since 1971 and had this one for 16 years. The beautiful history file not only documents all the cars very comprehensive servicing, all MOTs from 2000, but also a wonderful log of its useage, mileage and all associated costs since 2005. It was a reward for selling his company and as he said, he thought he should tick the box while he’s still able to fold himself into one! He managed and even managed to get it home clean and dry.
